
The TopDutch Weekend Guide 11-13th of October
Has it been a long week? Looking for something fun to clear the cobwebs off? Luckily for you, we’ve got loads of active events going on in the TopDutch region this weekend: from the 4 Mile Groningen, which brings out the whole TopDutch community for a run, to spicing up your dance moves at the Fuego Festival. And if you’re not up for an active weekend, October is, of course, the month of Oktoberfest…
4 Mile Groningen
Once a year, the sporty and competitive culture of TopDutch comes out in full-force for the 4 Mile Groningen. 23,000 runners of different levels take to the streets of Groningen, to the tune of different DJs and bands across the route, and the cheers of those less inclined to join in with the running.

Oktoberfest Leeuwarden
October is in full-swing, and although it may mean more chilly days and less sun, it also means we have an excuse to celebrate one of our favorite German traditions: Oktoberfest! For two days this weekend, Leeuwarden going Duetsche with lots of beer, dancing and lederhosen.

Telentnet Superprestige Cyclo-cross
Our province of Drenthe is world famous for their cycling, and this weekend’s edition of the Telenet Superprestige Cyclo-cross championship in Gieten is sure to show off why. Watch the cyclists battle through some beautiful landscapes: pavement, grass and beach in the Northern round of the Benelux competition.

Ed Wubbe's Holland & Le Chat Noir
Experience two iconic performances from one of the Netherlands most famous choreographers, Ed Wubbe, at SPOT this weekend. Travel through time and space with the combination of Holland, which explores the so-called Golden Age of the Netherlands, and Le Chat Noir, an emotional ode to Paris. Guaranteed to take your breath away.

Fuego Festival
Tired of the cold and want to put some heat in your life? Transport yourself to the Caribbean at Fuego Festival this weekend. Spend the day picking up some moves from the salsa school Romos, and then spend the evening showing them off at a party filled with the hottest Caribbean DJs.

Spirit of Nature
Yes, our cities are always buzzing with events… but so is our nature! The fall season is perfect time to explore our famous forests, and the national forestry commission Staatsbosbeheer are helping us get involved with the start of two awe-inspiring events at Boomkroonpad this fall: ‘spirit of nature’ which guides you through the woods to a cozy campfire, and ‘Pixi’, where you can explore the woods followed by the digital lightshow designed by art collective WERC.
